Current Status of lender knowledge relating to Energy Financing Programs

There are four primary categories Loan Officers fall into in relation to their understanding of energy financing opportunities in the mortgage process.

1) There are a handful of people throughout the nation who have been promoting these opportunities for years and understand them fairly well

2) There are several loan officers throughout the nation who have identified this area as a means to generate some much-needed volume in the mortgage business, and are representing themselves as experts while they try to figure it out. I honestly do not have a lot of respect for these individuals because they have sabotaged the efforts of many Realtors, Contractors, Home Owners, and others in this process.

3) There are many loan officers throughout the nation that have identified the opportunities here, have attempted to find enough information to feel confident in promoting these programs, and have concluded that they cannot find enough information to be comfortable offering these products

4) There are many good loan officers who are not even really aware of these programs and the need for them in the market

It is my intent for this platform to provide an opportunity for the loan officers in the third and fourth category here to achieve the competence to meet the needs in this area right now confidently, and with integrity.
